Bac Ninh grants certificate to Samsung Display’s US$1 billion project

The People’s Committee in the northern province of Bac Ninh on July 2 handed over an investment certificate to a US$1 billion project of the South Korean Company Samsung Display in Yen Phong Industrial Zone.

The project is expected to produce 48 million flexible displays per year with annual revenue of US$6 billion and create jobs to 8,000 local workers.

Chairman Nguyen Nhan Chien of Bac Ninh welcomed Samsung Group and its subsidiaries to invest in the province. Chien hoped other companies will continue offering investment to Bac Ninh.

Local authorities will ensure human and property safety of foreign enterprises and facilitate their operation, he pledged.

The company director general Choi Kwon Young thanked the provincial leaders and the Ministry of Planning and Investment for creating advantageous conditions so that it can get investment license in short time.

He also expressed satisfaction with local investment environment. The province’s modern infrastructure and abundant human resources are able to meet the company’s development demand.
