Another 207 tax departments to be merged

The General Department of Taxation announced that it will merge 207 tax departments into 98 regional tax departments in the third phase of this year and these new regional tax departments will start operation from October 7 this year.

The tax departments which will be unified this time are of 35 provinces, namely Quang Ninh, Ca Mau, Hau Giang, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Dak Nong, Cao Bang, Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa, Lai Chau, Bac Lieu, Bac Giang, Binh Dinh, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ben Tre, Binh Phuoc, Ha Giang, Ha Tinh, Quang Nam, Binh Duong, Kien Giang, Bac Ninh, Dong Thap, Lao Cai, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan, Nam Dinh, Hai Phong and Gia Lai.

Last year, the General Department of Taxation established regional tax departments in six provinces and cities. This year, it united 54 tax departments into 26 regional tax departments in nine provinces and cities in the first phase and combined 106 tax departments into 50 regional ones in 16 provinces and cities in the second phase.

Thus, through rearrangement and establishment of regional tax departments, up to now, 401 tax departments have been reduced to 190 regional tax departments.
