APEC 2017 Food Security Week opens in Can Tho

The APEC 2017 Food Security Week and High-Level Policy Dialogue on Enhancing Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in Response to Climate Change will be held in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on August 18-25.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the event, as part of the 2017 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Vietnam, will attract nearly 1,500 delegates from APEC member economies and representatives of local and international organizations and businesses.
The week will focus on food security for sustainable agricultural development, smart agriculture in climate change adaptation , post-harvest management, and hi-tech application
Deputy chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho city Dao Anh Dung said that the municipal government will call for investment in three high-tech agricultural zones in Co Do and Thoi Lai districts.
