Assets of State-owned enterprises to be inventoried, re-evaluated

The Finance Ministry has submitted a plan to the Government that would inventory and re-evaluate the assets of State-owned enterprises in a bid to solve their financial problems.  

The inventory and evaluation would take place in early 2011.
According to a report by 83 State-owned groups and corporations, the total assets owned by them as of December 31, 2009 totaled VND1,533,602 billion, of which owners’ capital was VND562,046 billion.
Previously, the inventory and re-evaluation were had typically been done in the first year of every five-year period, but since the last inventory was taken on January 1, 2000, the Government has yet to inventory and re-evaluate assets of State-owned enterprises.
