Norfund to support small, medium enterprises in Vietnam

Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank has just received a long-term loan of US$15 million from the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries (Norfund) to support small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.

Norfund is an investment company that helps to establish and develop profitable and sustainable enterprises in poorer countries, by providing loans to small and medium enterprises.

Currently, the number of small and medium enterprises account for 98 per cent of the total number of enterprises in the country.

However, just a few of them have access to financial resources and acquiring capital, especially long-term capital, is a challenge for both small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.
