US dollar exchange rate edges up slightly

Although the State Bank of Vietnam lowered its central rate by VND2 per dollar compared to the previous day to VND21,907 on January 14, several banks raised their US dollar exchange rates by the end of the day.

State-owned banks, including Vietcombank and Vietinbank, bought dollars at VND22,410 per dollar and sold at VND22,480 per dollar, up VND25 per dollar over the previous day.

Joint stock commercial banks, such as ACB and Eximbank added VND20 per dollar to their dollar exchange rates to buy at VND22,410 per dollar and sell at VND22,470 per dollar.
