Bosch invests $55 million in southern car part factory

Bosch Vietnam, the local wing of the German car part maker, is investing US$55 million to build a new factory expected to open in southern province of Dong Nai’s Long Thanh Industrial Zone by the end of 2010.

The Bosch factory will manufacture push belts for continuously variable transmissions (CVT) for a variety of car models.

In addition, Bosch Vietnam will establish a software and technology center in Ho Chi Minh City in the third quarter of the year to produce embedded software products and technological solutions.

Some 500 experts and engineers are expected to be working at the center by 2015.

The center will be Bosch Group’s first information technology investment in Southeast Asia.
