Can Tho enjoys highest ever trade surplus

The Mekong Delta city of Can Tho enjoyed the highest ever trade surplus of US$616 million in the first nine months this year, reported the city Department of Planning and Investment.

Total export turnover reached US$914 million and import hit US$298 million.

In exports, rice and seafood were the two major items bringing US$723 million accounting for 79 percent of the total turnover.

Other items including garment, medicine, handicraft, leather, steel, fruit, canned mushroom yielded US$181 million, an increase of 4-29 percent over the same period last year.
