Cassava export tax back to 0 percent

The Government has approved the Ministry of Finance’s proposal to halt implementation of Circular 63 released by the ministry imposing 5 percent export tax rate on cassava on June 20 until there will have a new regulation.

The 0 percent tax rate has been applied back since September 5 as before the circular was released.

Previously, cassava slice exporters in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces had lamented about difficulties they met from the five percent tax rate.

The Ministry of Finance then reported the issue to the Prime Minister proposing him to halt the circular to solve difficulties for cassava businesses and growers.
