CPI increases slightly 0.04 percent in first 4 months

Vietnam Statistics Office has just announced Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased 0.14 percent in April as compared to last month and 0.99 percent over the same period last year. Accordingly, for the first 4 months of this year, CPI rose slightly 0.04 percent, recorded the lowest growth rate in the past 14 years.

Groups of consumer goods saw small reduction of 0.42 percent as compared to last month included restaurants and food services. Among the prices of food decreased 0.31 percent; foodstuffs of 0.54 percent and other food services of 0.14 percent, respectively.

General statistics office’s experts said the CPI in April rose due to hikes in the prices of petrol, fuel and electricity.
