Da Nang receives first flight on lunar New Year

The first flight No.VJ881 of the low cost airline Vietjet from RoK’s Seoul carried 180 passengers departed at Incheon Airport in Seoul at 6.15 and arrived in Da Nang at 9.20.
Vietjet airlines offered three pairs of air tickets on international routes to three lucky travellers and prsented red envelopes filled with lucky money to all passengers.
According to the statistics, in the first month of this year the city welcomed nearly 520,000 visitors, including 270,000 international tourists, presenting a year-on-year increase of 14.2 percent. The municipla tourism sector earned VND1,796 billion, up 21.1 percent compared to the same period last year. More than 240,000 visitors to Da Nang via air, a 44.7 percent increase from 2018. The city also received 12 cruise ships carrying a total number of 20,880 holiday makers, and 46,500 visitors arriving from the river.
As of December 2018, there were 23 direct routes to Da Nang, including 15 daily non-stop flights and 8 direct charter flights, with more than 328 flights per week. The number of visitors travelling to Da Nang by air was 2.35 million, up 48.7 percent from 2017.
In 2018, Da Nang International Airport served 80,745 commercial flights and 13.2 million passengers.
Da Nang Airport will sign a deal with Chubu Centrair International Airport of Japan on February 22 to launch Da Nang-Nagoya direct route, The airport’s director, Le Xuan Tung, revealed.
The two sides will organize seminars, familiarization (or FAM) trips, and shoot promotional movies in order to connect the two destinations”. The airport expects to receive 87,853 flights and nearly 14.9 million passengers, he added
