Gas companies on March 9 announced a decrease of VND10,000 on a 12 kilogram domestic cooking gas cylinder, after consumption dropped in the domestic market and with a drop of US$60 per tonne in the global market.

Accordingly, the retail price of a 12 kilogram domestic cooking gas cylinder will be around VND465,000-470,000, depending on the brand.

According to gas companies, domestic consumption had dropped by 30-40 per cent because of sudden hike in prices, and was feared to drop even further.
