E-Commerce to Be Pushed Up

The conference to sum up experience on the “E-Commerce Development” program, helping businesses improve their competitiveness in the international economic integration, was hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Trade, on March 28.

The Department is calling for more participation from companies as E-Commerce plays a main role in business.
 
The meeting also emphasized that successful market research campaigns do occupy decisive role for further achievements, and a market information center is very essential for all enterprises.

The local authority promises to cooperate with businesses in making many more information channels accessible through a web interface, said Standing Vice Chairman of HCMC People's Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan at the seminar.

One more E-Commerce- themed seminar will be held in May 2006 to clarify the role of each participating business. As many as 50 economic experts specializing in the European market have been sent abroad in preparation for the export sector.

It is necessary that the city have a cooperation and synchonized development in E-commerce comprehensive development plan for the 2006-2010 period.

Last year, over 250 enterprises had free advertisements on the website www.trade.hochiminhcity.gov.vn.
