Ben Tre’s department of agriculture& rural development said there are 2,000 coconut-processing units and 10 coconut enterprises in the province. The provincial coconut export turnover has reached US$ 150million accounting for 21 percent compared total export value.
Mr. Vo Thanh Hao, Secretary of Ben Tre Party Committee said the provincial’s enterprises need change production process, the industry can improve its potential in sustainable development. As if, the province should enhance the connection between local farmers and enterprises in planting, harvesting, processing and exporting. Besides, the enterprises should apply science technology toward clean products.
