He made the statement while receiving Mr. Jun Dae Joo, Rok Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Vietnam.

The project is expected to contribute in boosting economic development in Can Tho and the Mekong Delta also, said Mr. Man.

Can Tho City has already implemented the Vietnam-RoK technology nursery project in Tra Noc Industrial Zone at the capital of US$21.13 million for development of key industries in the city, such as farm produce, seafood, manufacture mechanics for farming production.

Mr. Jun said that the investment trend of RoK businesses in Vietnam has strongly developed. Their investment capital in the country has so far amounted to US$32.4 billion, just after Japan with US$36 billion.

In 2013-2014 alone, RoK took the lead in foreign investment capital in Vietnam, he said.

Bilateral trade between the two counties hit US$28.3 billion last year and is believed to top US$30 billion this year. It might approach US$70 billion by 2020 when the VN-RoK free trade agreement takes effect, he said.

The ambassador stated that he would introduce potentials and strengths of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta to encourage RoK businesses to invest there.
