Canada pork exporters meet VNese businesses

The Canadian Pork International Association (CPI) and 13 members had a meeting with Vietnamese importers, distributors and food process in Ho Chi Minh City, yesterday.

The Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City Richard Bale reported at the meeting: “Total export and import turnover between two countries have seen a strong growth with an estimated of 20 percent per year. Canadian products of grains, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables and meats like pork which imported to Vietnam market reached at US$ 353. 6 million with an estimated of over 54 percent of Canadian export turnover to Vietnam.

Currently, Canada is the world’s third large producer and provider at 100 countries worldwide with US$ 2, 8 billion.

The Canada pork products have competitive advantages in price and quality. Besides, in Canadian pork’s industry, Hazard analysis critical control point (HCCP) always ensures safety of food and production operations.
