City’s credit balances up 10.92 percent

The Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office reported that total credit outstanding balance in Ho Chi Minh city reached VND 1.63 million, an increase of 19.8 percent compared to the same period of last year and 10.92 percent over December, 2016.

Of these, credit outstanding balance of joint-stock commercial banks reached VND 887.3 trillion, accounted for 54.28 percent in total outstanding loan balance, increased 16.62 percent compared to the same period of last year.
The rapid credit growth showed that credit stimulus package as well as policies of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) contributed to promoting the capital consumption and economic growth. 

Outstanding foreign currency loans reached VND 154.2 trillion, accounting for 9.44 percent of total loans and raised 15.47 percent over the same period of last year. 

The VND credit balance reached VND 1.480.000 billion, accounting for 90.56 percent of the total loans, an increase of 20.27 percent compared with the same period last year.

Up to the beginning of August, the total mobilized capital in Ho Chi Minh City has reached VND 1,890,000 billion, up 0.76 percent and 12.61 percent compared with July and the same period last year respectively.

Of these, foreign currency capital mobilization has occupied 12.01 percent, up 6.28 percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hands, the VND capital mobilization accounted for 87.99 percent of the total mobilized capitals, up 13.53 percent compared with the same period last year.

At the same time, capital mobilization of joint-stock commercial banks made up 52.79 percent upon the total mobilized capitals, increased 8.75 percent compared to the same period last year.
