Estimation: City's all-year exports rise by 27 percent

HCM City’s exports are expected to top US$24.4 billion this year, a 27 percent rise  last year, according to a report from its Department of Industry and Trade.

They account for over 38 percent of the country’s exports, said the report, which was filed at a city export meeting Tuesday.

Non-crude oil exports are estimated at $14 billion, a 34 percent rise.

At the meeting, the department also presented its 2009 export target. The city’s vice chairwoman, Nguyen Thi Hong, ordered the department to work out the details, saying they must be submitted to the People Committee’s by December 25.
