Forum mulls ways to improve business connectivity in Mekong Delta

The Mekong Connect-CEO Forum 2015 themed ‘Connectivity-Integration-Development’ was kicked off in Can Tho City on Friday attracting over 500 entrepreneurs from Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.

At the event, economic experts and businesses discussed way to improve the connectivity among local businesses in the delta.

The Mekong Delta including 13 provinces and cities plays a significant role in Vietnam’s economy, contributes 17.8 percent Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 80 percent rice export value and 60 percent seafood export value, they said.

Local businesses should speed up connectivity to explore local potentials, improve their ability to adapt climate change and catch up with global integration as Vietnam has signed 11 free trade agreements and five others have been under negotiation.
