Honda Vietnam’s First Home-built sedan Civic Launched

The first production model in Viet Nam is the latest version of Honda Civic.

Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd launched its Viet Nam-made luxury sedan Civic in Ha Noi on Wednesday, August 24, marking its first car production in Viet Nam.

According to the manufacturer, the eighth-generation Civic has won the highest credit in competitive markets like the US, Canada and even in Japan for its advanced technology, outstanding quality and safety features.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Takeo Fukui, president and CEO of Honda Motor Co. Ltd, said that the first production model in Viet Nam is the latest version of Honda Civic.

The five-seat Civic costs VND495 million (US$31,000), VND515 million (US$32.200) and VND605 million (US$37,800) for Civic 1.81 MT, Civic 1.81 AT and Civic 2.01 AT respectively, including VAT.

Civic automobiles are currently manufactured in 12 countries, and have been sold in over 160 countries with a total number of nearly 17 million units since they were first launched in 1972, becoming one of the most popular models in Honda’s history.
