Tra fish exports to Brazil increase 761%

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that Vietnamese tra fish exported to Brazil reached US$ 17.2million for the first three month of 2016, an increase of 761.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

In 2015, Vietnamese businesses met difficulties in exporting Vietnamese tra fish to South American markets including Brazil, Argentina...

One of the main reasons for the falling exports to Brazil was because of the US dollar rate hiked. The exchange rate between the US dollar and real Brazil (BRL) rise in year end 2015 at 4 real to 1 US dollar.

However, for the first three months of this year, China and Vietnam became top two markets to supply tra fish to Brazil market.
