Viet Nam, Chong zuo City to Cooperate in Industry

Chinese enterprises plan to invest in coal mining in the northern Viet Nam's Red River Delta.

Chong zuo city of China is seeking to boost economic cooperation with Viet Nam in some major industries, said Luo Dianlong, Secretary of the Chong zuo Party Committee at a meeting held by the Vietnamese Minister of Industry in Ha Noi on April 14.

Secretary Luo Dainlong, also head of the People’s Congress of Chong zuo city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said the two sides can cooperate in thermo-electricity, metallurgy, sugar-cane processing, building materials and local administrations.

Currently, many enterprises from Chong zuo city are negotiating with Vietnamese partners to carry out some cooperative projects.

Particularly, they will negotiate with the Viet Nam’s Coal and Mineral Industrial Group to construct a 1.2 million kW thermo-electric power plant in Chong zuo, which uses Vietnamese coal. Also, a coal mining contract in the Red River Delta in northern Viet Nam between two sides will be discussed soon.
