The country now is the third largest footwear manufacturers after China and Indonesia.

The United States and EU are Vietnam's largest export markets, accounts for nearly 36 percent and over 31 percent respectively.

This year, Vietnam’s footwear and leather industry has been warned to face difficulties and challenges of low production costs, cheap labor resources as well as low taxes from some new markets such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Bangladesh…

Leading leather footwear brands around the world have tendency move the production or order in these new markets.
