FDI disbursement reaches $1.7 billion

Disbursement of foreign direct investment (FDI) projects reached US$1.7 billion during the first two months this year, increasing nearly 10 percent over the same period last year.

That was reported by Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
FDI capital reached $3.34 billion. Of these, 411 projects were granted investment certificates with the total registered capital of $1.39 billion; 133 projects increased investment capital by $700 million. In addition, there were 873 capital contributions and share purchases by foreign investors with the total value of $1.25 billion.
Manufacturing and processing attracted most FDI capital with $1.83 billion accounting for 54 percent of total registered capital, followed by construction with $345 million and real estate with $312 million.
HCMC took the lead in FDI attraction with over $1 billion accounting for one third of total investment capital. Binh Duong province ranked second with $434 million and Ninh Thuan province ranked third with $253.9 million.
