The signing ceremony taking place at 3.45 p.m. (local time) on March 26 in Paris was witnessed by President of the National Assembly of France Francois de Rugy and General Secretary of the Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, who is being on an official visit to France to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
After carefully considering options, FLC Group and Bamboo Airways have decided to purchase A321NEO aircrafts from Airbus. "This type of plane will allow us to offer effective, appropriate and convenient services, contributing to the development of Vietnam's leisure industry", FLC chairman Trinh Van Quyet said.
Vietnam is one of the highest developed economies of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Airbus feels proud to contribute in the development of the Vietnam's air transport market, stressed Eric Schulz, Executive Vice-President, Chief of Sales, Marketing and Contracts for Airbus Commercial Aircraft.
Airbus A321 Neo is a member of the Airbus A320 family manufactured by Airbus. The 220-seat aircraft saves fuel and reduces emission and noise with a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles (6,437km). The airplane is ideally suited for intercontinental flights.
Bamboo Airways Company was established in 2017 with a charter capital of 700 billion VND (31.4 million USD). The airline operated by FLC will offer direct flights to Vietnam’s popular destinations where FLC has built major tourist complexes, such as Quy Nhon, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Phu Quoc and Nha Trang. Bamboo Airways is waiting for the Vietnamese government to approve its application.
