Gas prices to increase from January 1

Gas prices will increase VND12,000 to VND312,000 (US$14) a 12 kilogram cylinder from January 1 next year, announced gas companies in HCMC yesterday afternoon.

Explaining the price increase, the companies said that the world gas contract price would average $465 a ton in January, up $65 over December.

According to Tien Phong Newspaper, that is the fourth price hike since September this year with the total increase of VND34,000 a cylinder.
