German giant continues assistance to Vietnamese businesses

German Group TUV SUD and Ho Chi Minh City Union of Business Association signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on assistance to Vietnamese exporters in many fields on November 20.

The global testing, certification, inspection and training provider TUV SUD has supported Vietnamese garment and textile companies to ensure a qualified production process and export to the US and EU.

Under the MOU, the group will continue giving assistance to Vietnamese enterprises operating in many fields including electronics, medical equipment and food industry.
 

According to the German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (GIC), German investors are heading towards Vietnam and Germany is also an attractive consumption market for Vietnamese businesses. At present, about 500 German companies want to find Vietnamese providers of garment and textile and footwear products.

Vietnam and Germany trade reached US$7.7 billion in 2013, up 18 percent over the previous year. Over 300 German businesses have been licensed to operate in Vietnam so far, it said.

Vietnam exports to the Germany market amounted to US$4.7 billion last year and US$3.3 in the first eight months this year, reported Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency. Main export items were garment, footwear, coffee and seafood.
