Gold prices shot up on the global and Vietnamese markets on February 11.
On Kito.com, the metal closed at US$918.70 per ounce, $15.2 higher than the previous day’s close. An ounce equals 31.1 grams.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Sai Gon Jewelry Holding Company (SJC) bought gold at VND18.88 million and sold at 18.93 million per tael, VND130,000 and 300,000 higher respectively. A tael equals 37.5 grams.
Bullion transactions were up slightly but the volume of buying was double that of selling.
