Gold price down in 3 consecutive weeks

Gold price in Viet Nam has reduced over the past three weeks following decreases in the world market.

In the August 2 afternoon, the world gold price was finalized at US$911.3 per ounce, reducing by US$19 compared with the beginning of the week. In Ho Chi Minh City, SJC, PNJ and DAB gold was finalized at VND18.55 million (buying price) and VND18.62 million (selling price) per tael, decreasing by VND20,000 compared with Friday and VND370,000 compared with the beginning of the week.

It was the third consecutive week in which the price of the valuable metal has gone down. The domestic price per tael was about VND450,000-500,000 lower than the world price but the local purchasing power was going down.
