Gov’t not yet given nod to merger of MobiFone and VinaPhone

Information on merger of two giant mobile service providers, MobiFone and VinaPhone has not been reported accurately in some newspapers, affirmed Le Nam, Standing Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.

The Vietnam Post and Telecommunication Group, VNPT has submitted a plan for approval from the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Government, which has not yet been endorsed.

Merger of the two networks will create a huge impact on the complexion and development of the local telecommunications market.
