Petrol prices surge by more than VND700 per liter

The prices of petrol in Vietnam advanced the second consecutive time to above VND21,000 per liter as global oil price was at high level recently.

As of 5 p.m. on July 17, the price of E5 RON92 gasoline was added VND626 per liter to VND20,279 per liter; RON95-III gasoline rose VND718 per liter to VND21,235 per liter; diesel oil 0.05S edged up VND48 per liter to VND16,997 per liter; kerosene inched up VND22 per liter to VND15,959 per liter; and mazut oil climbed VND760 per kilogram to VND15,980 per kilogram.

The ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance ordered fuel wholesalers to reduce the setting level of the fuel price stabilization fund of E5 RON92 gasoline to VND100 per liter from VND200 per liter; of RON95-III gasoline and other kinds of oil to VND500 per liter/kilogram from VND700 per liter/kilogram.

In addition, fuel wholesalers are not allowed to tap the fuel price stabilization fund.
