Reference exchange rate kept unchanged on July 3

The State Bank of Vietnam kept the daily reference exchange rate for July 3 unchanged from the previous day at VND22,635 to US$1.

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is VND23,314  to $1 and the floor rate VND21,956 to $1.

However, the rates listed at commercial banks surged strongly. 

The rates listed at Vietcombank were VND23,005 to $1 (buying) and $1 23,075 (selling), both up 85 VND. 

The rates at BIDV rose 65 VND to VND22,990 to $1 (buying) and VND23,060 to $1 (selling). 

Techcombank added 35 VND to its listed buying rate, bringing it to VND22,935 to $1 and 40 VND to the selling rate, bringing it to VND23,040 to $1.
