Altimo, a leading Russian communications corporation, held Thursday a press conference in Ha Noi to announce that its representative office will be opened in Viet Nam in late November to carry out investment in communications. The announcement was given just one day after Viet Nam entered WTO.
Speaking at the press conference, Altimo’s vice chairman RoGer De Bazelaire said that Viet Nam is an attractive market with the high increase of GDP and large population of more than 80 million.
Altimo thus decided to invest and cooperate in communications. Altimo’s focus is to become a partner of the existing mobile operators in Viet Nam.
The vice chairman revealed that his company invested US$3 billion in Turkey’s communications.
