Some sugar plants close down due to lack of materials

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development yesterday said that 39 out of 41 sugar manufacturers have produced 802,580 tons of sugar.

To make 802,580 tons of sugar, the plants have used 10,236,300 tons of sugar canes. Compared to last year, the amount of sugar canes has decreased by 1.25 million tons and the amount of produced sugar has been down by 163,780 tons.

Several sugar-making facilities including Kien Giang, Hiep Hoa, Ca Mau and Long My Phat have stopped production because of lack of sugar canes.

In addition, this year, Hoa Binh factory is working on plan to move to other site and MK Sugar is placing an ad for selling.
