The VN-Index this morning made another turnaround and rose 18.36 points to end the session at 923.89, or 2.3% above the previous close.
More than 4.6 million shares changed hands for nearly VND574.4 billion. An impressive 82 of the 110 stocks climbed dramatically, including BMC, REE, and TDH, 15 stocks fell and only 13 remained unchanged.
Blue-chip shares increased sharply, with BMC up by VND23,000, REE by VND10,000, TDH by VND9,000, VNM by VND8,000 and GMD by VND7,000.
The Ho Chi Minh City Securities Trading Centre is closed during the six-day holiday and will reopen for trading on May 2.
Many previously downcast investors expect the market to continue today’s performance and establish an upward trend after what they call a "long convalescence".
