VN-Index surpasses 580 points

Vietnam’s stock market marked its sixth consecutive gaining trading session on January 13 thanks to strong cash flow into the market.
 
Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index jumped 6.28 points, or 1.09 percent, to close at 580.6 points with 134 winners, 70 losers, and 80 stocks treading water.
 
VN30-Index, which tracks the city’s top 30 stocks by market value and liquidity, also gained 3.66 points, or 0.59 percent, to 619.39 points. Among the members, there were 16 gainers, 8 losers, and 6 shares remained unchanged.
 
Trading volume on the city’s bourse nearly touched 111.7 million shares, worth more than VND2.08 trillion.
 
In Hanoi, the HNX-Index inched up 0.46 points, or 0.55 percent, to finish at 85.18 points with trading volume exceeding 48.5 million shares, approximately worth VND748.2 billion. Of the index members, 108 shares advanced, 90 declined, and 167 stalled.
 
The HNX30-Index surged 0.92 points, or 0.56 percent, to 165.76 points with 14 stocks climbing, 9 sliding, and 7 standing still.
