Switzerland finances expansion of National Business Registration System

The National Business Registration System will receive US $4.75 million from Switzerland for its expansion of business registration system in 2014-2018.

Implementation of the project was announced at a ceremony hosted in Hanoi on April 15.

By 2018, types of businesses registering in the system will be expanded to Foreign Direct Investment, scientific and technological businesses, credit institutions, and law offices.

The expansion will also cover businesses under the Enterprise Law registered by management boards of industrial and export processing zones.

The system will be connected with other agencies including social insurance, banks, and brand name and label registration to improve the e-government modal in Vietnam.

The system was built and operated in 2008 by the Department of Business Registration Management under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the General Department of Tax under the Ministry of Finance and provincial business registration offices.
