Turnover of mobile telephones, accessories exports reaches US$3.3 billion

Exports of mobile telephones and accessories increased by 22.9 percent in two past months reaching US$3.3 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The EU, United Arab Emirates, the US and Russia are the main importers of Vietnamese mobile handsets and components.

Exports of mobile devices and accessories reached nearly US$1.7 billion in January 2014, according to the Department of Customs. This is an increase of 38.3 percent compared to December 2013 and is an increase of 14.6 percent over the same period last year.

Turnover of the exports reached US$21.5 billion in 2012, becoming one of the largest exports of the country.

The industry has drastically grown in the last five years.
