The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported that Vietnam's export turnover of vegetables and fruits hit about US$120 million a month and might reach high record of US$1.4 billion this year.

China, Japan and South Korea are the three largest importers of Vietnam's vegetables and fruits. Import value from China has hit US$321.48 million this year, increasing 43.84 percent over the same period last year and accounting for 27.71 percent of Vietnam’s total import turnover.
Vietnam Vegetable and Fruit Association said that import value has more and more increased because local businesses have focused on processing for better preservation.
Some types of fresh vegetables and fruits in Vietnam have entered the market of the US, Australia and South Korea for meeting their food safety and hygiene standards, it said.
