The Central Economic Board in collaboration with Economic University and the Hanoi National University hosted a seminar titled “Vietnam towards ASEAN Economic Communication (AEC) and policy suggestion for Vietnam” in Hanoi on October 28.
At the seminar, the Central Economic Board Prof. Dr Vuong Dinh Hue said that pursuant to ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATICA), Vietnam has reduced 0- 5 percent of import capital.
Vietnam is one of four member countries of ASEAN that has completed well pledges to implement AEC. However, Vietnam has still limited in economic development qualification compared to other countries in the region. In recent years, Vietnam in particular and ASEAN economic community in general has faced with great challenges due to the global economic crisis.
Vietnam officially became member of ASEAN on July 25, 1995 and the ASEAN Fee Trade Area on January 1, 1996.
