Vietnam one of US’s biggest timber importers

Last year, Vietnam imported timber from the US worth $265 million, becoming one of the biggest timber importers of the US, said Association for Handicraft and Wood Industry of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA ) at a seminar jointly held by HAWA and the U.S. Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

For years, Vietnam is one of biggest importers of the US timber worth $265 million in 2017.
Improved living condition leads to boom of construction of buildings. Decoration is focused on and wood becomes one of material for the purpose. The US wood is highly assessed because of its high quality, flexibility in making interior decoration and construction.
To ensure the origin of material for export, Vietnam needs good suppliers; therefore, the country imports the US wood for years.
