Vietnam’s trade deficit estimated at $200 million in April

The Vietnam’s trade deficit in the first four months is estimated at $200 million, said the General Statistics Office.

The country’s total import turnover in April is estimated to reach US$400 million, decreasing 5.7 per cent over the previous month, said the office.

In the first four months, the country’s import turnover is estimated at $33.6 billion, an increase of 4.4 per cent against the same period last year, said the office.

Meanwhile, the country’s total export turnover in April is estimated to reach $8.6 billion, a decrease of 9.3 per cent over the previous month.

In the first four months its total export turnover is estimated at $33.4 billion, an increase of 22.1 per cent against the same period last year.

Of the figure, the domestic economic sector reached nearly $12.8 billion, an increase of 4.3 per cent and the foreign direct investment sector (including crude oil) reached $20.65 billion, an increase of 36.4 per cent.
