Vinamilk share's starting price set at VND154,000

With the starting price of VND154,000 per share, State Capital and Investment Corporation (SCIC) will get VND7.4 trillion (US$326 million) from 3.33 percent state capital withdrawal, expected in October, from Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk).

The starting price was set at VND144,000 per share in the company’s 9 percent share sale last year.
Since August this year, Vinamilk stake price has swung from VND147,500-154,000. The highest price of VND154,000 was on August 3 and 4. Closing the session on September 7, it was VND149,500 per share.
Replying to the press previously, SCIC chairman Nguyen Duc Chi said that 48,333,000 shares of Vinamilk, equivalent to 3.33 percent chartered capital, were expected to be offered for sale in October.
Share buyers are domestic and foreign investors meeting requirements as per regulations.
After the October share sale, state capital ratio at Vinamilk will reduce to 36 percent.
It is expected that Saigon Alcohol Beer and Beverages Corporation (Sabeco) will sell state capital, about 53.9 percent chartered capital, with a starting price and share buyers similar to Vinamilk's.
