VN- South Africa trade turnover to hit US$ 2 bln

A seminar on trade, investment and tourism promotion between South Africa and Vietnam was opened in central city of Hue on December 4.

As per report at the meeting, two- way trade turnover between Vietnam and South Africa increased US$ 700 million in 2012 to US$ 1.5 billion in 2017 after 25 years of the establishement of diplomatic relationship.

Currently, South Africa is Vietnam’s largest distributor in timber products, chemicals, plastic materials, cotton fibers, fertilizer ...

Meanwhile, Vietnamese product exports to South Africa include footwear, coffee, textile and garment, rice, precious gemstones and metals…

By the end of 2019, the two sides expect that bilateral trade turnover will hit US$ 2 billion. 

The seminar was co-held by branch of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Da Nang and the South Africa Embassy.
