At the end of yesterday’s trading session on the Ho Chi Minh City bourse, the VN-Index closed at 588 points. This was the second time the index dipped below 600 since the beginning of the month.
Of 153 listed stocks, Do Thanh Industrial Joint Stock Co. (DDT) increased by VND500, three remained the same and 149 lost value. Nearly 100 stocks fell by the maximum allowed under market rules.
The total volume of sell orders was well above the total volume of buy orders. At the end of the session, only 9 million shares with a total value of less than VND500 billion (US$31,535,793) had changed hands. Foreign investors were responsibly for one-third of the transactions. The foreign investors were, however, only interested in buying shares.
Up north in Ha Noi, the HaSTC-Index dropped to 195 points. Some 7.6 million shares with a total value of VND359 billion (US$22,642,699) changed hands.
