VNPT’s brand value adds 16 percent in 2018

Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group’s (VNPT) brand value gained 16 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year to nearly US$1.34 billion to rank third in the list of Vietnam’s 50 largest brands by the UK’s brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance.

VinaPhone, VNPT’s subsidiary, also ranked seventh in the list with an increase of 15 percent in brand value compared to that in 2017.
According to VNPT, its profit topped VND6.44 trillion, exceeding 9.4 percent compared to its plan and up 25 percent compared to the same period in 2017. The company has achieved a profit growth of above 20 percent for five consecutive years.
Up to now, the company has 34 million subscribers, of which there are 31.3 million cell phone subscribers. Total Internet subscribers of the company are 5.2 million, an increase of 11 percent over the same period in 2017.
Brand Finance aims to test effectiveness of Vietnam's intangible assets and brands. Intangible assets make a significant contribution to a company’s value. Brand Finance evaluates brand value by approaching Royalty Relief, a brand valuation method complying with industrial standards set in ISO 10668.
