Work Starts on Viet Nam’s Biggest Gas Storage Facility

PetroVietnam Southern Gas Joint Stock Company (PV Gas South) began the construction of what will be Viet Nam’s biggest gas storage facility at Go Dau Industrial Park in Dong Nai Province Thursday.

A gas storage

The facility will be able to store a maximum of 6,000 tons of gas and is projected to cost VND215 billion (US$12.7 million).

A seaport that can receive 50,000-ton ships will also be built at this location.

It will be the only gas storage facility in the country with a treatment system. It will collect gas from offshore fields to process and then supply fuel to industrial parks.

When put into operation in September next year, the facility will store gas produced by Dinh Co Gas Plant in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province as well as imported gas.
