8th Ho Chi Minh City Book Festival opens

The 8th Ho Chi Minh City Book Festival is held at the Le Van Tam Park in District 1 from March 24-30.

There will be 500 stalls from local and foreign publishers displaying over 200,000 titles.  The festival expects to sell more than 20 million copies. Books will be highly discounted during the event.

Seminars, speeches from authors and readers, exhibitions on rare and valuable works, story time for children will be held during the event.

The fair is an iconic cultural event in the city. The event plays an important role in rebuilding and developing popularity of books in Vietnam.

The event marks the 84th anniversary of the Vietnamese Communist Party, the 39th anniversary of the liberation of the South, the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army.
