Ancient Pagoda Recognized in Ha Tay Province

Statues in Ca Pagoda

The Ca Pagoda in Dong Truc Commune, Thach That District, Ha Tay Province was recognized as national heritage by the Ministry of Culture and Information on March 14.

The pagoda, built in the early 17th century, is one of the precious cultural and historical sites still in good shape, according to Vice Director of Ha Tay Province Museum Nguyen Thi Giang. There are as many as around 100 ancient Buddhism statues, the same number of statues as in Tay Phuong Pagoda; thus, the temple is also called “Miniature Tay Phuong”.

More surprisingly, all the statues, which were made in the 17th and 18th centuries, were not revamped and replaced like in other pagodas. The painting material of the statues is still undamaged.
