The 5th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2018 will be held on March 3-25, offering a wide range of cultural activities, announced the city People’s Committee on February 27.

This year’s event will include Ao Dai exhibition, a parade featuring more than 3,000 women wearing Vietnamese traditional Ao dai in Nguyen Hue walking street, art program on the Vietnamese traditional dress, Miss Ao Dai beauty contest, seminars and talk shows on Ao Dai and among.
Latest collections of around 1,000 Ao dai designs by famous designers, namely Sy Hoang, Thuan Viet, Viet Hung, Lien Huong and hundreds of tailor and fabric shops are expected to draw visitors.
Ao Dai Festival aims to honor the culture of traditional Vietnamese dresses during different periods of time and introduce the beauty of Ao Dai to foreign visitors; preserving and developing the unique quintessence of the Vietnamese culture.
The city’s authorities has also asked people’s committees of districts, state offices, schools and universities throughout the city to encourage women to wear Ao dai during March.
